Another 1 Year Old!

Last weekend, we had another 1 year old birthday party. This is for the little girl that I babysit. I used some nice bright Lavendar Lace along with some of SU!'s glitter. What a nice bright cheery card!

A Valentine's Frame.

For those of you who have been keeping tabs on my blog, you may have realized that I really enjoy making frames. There are a number of reasons for this. First, I love to display my work. I always like making a page or a card, but most of the time those things are tucked away in a scrapbook or mailed off for someone else to enjoy. So, the frames are a fun way to enjoy my work for a little longer. Secondly, I love the versatility of the products! Stamps just aren't for cards, you know!!!
This frame uses DSP paper from the new Candy Lane paper, ribbon that was offered in the last mini catalog, and the new heart punch!
We are experiencing another snow day today. So, the kids are wild. At least they are outdoors for a little while! Enjoy the snow!

So, I said that I was scrapbooking.

Well, I believe that the last time we talked I mentioned that I was able to get a few layouts done. But, then what happened? I apparently forgot to post any of the pages.

So, here you have one. It was actually a frame that I had done over the summer with the new chipboard and DSP paper. It was time to do something different in the frame and I didn't want to throw out the work. So, I adhered it to an 8 and 1/2 by 11 piece of cardstock which I then adhered to a 12 by 12 piece of cardstock and then added some letters! I guess, it is kind of an example of scrapbooking in a 6 X 6 size and then modifying it to fit other size platforms.

Hope that you enjoy it! My only complaint is that this paper would work perfectly with little girls. It is a little of a stretch for me to use red flowers with boys. But, it works!

Have I mentioned that I received my Valentine's Bundle?

Hello! So, are you bored yet of the Valentine's Day cards? I usually don't do so many, but thanks to the SU! sale that I couldn't refuse...I am making the best of it.

Here is another simple card. This time I used Close To Cocoa for the base. I usually don't think "brown" for Valentine's Day, but I guess it works! The new punch is super cool and works really well!!!

Stay warm!

Another Valentine's Card.

Here is another card that I made with the bundle! This time I used the Big Shot to make the envelope. The double sided DSP works great to make these cute little envelopes. I used the punch for the small hearts and then cut out the larger heart with scissors. Once again, the red on red is not showing up well in the photo, but it does say "Happy Valentine's Day" and there are the two cute little birds in the corner too!

I hope that everyone enjoys their day off. I worked extremely hard yesterday cleaning the kitchen. That means that today, I will be upstairs and scrapbooking! I warned my husband of this yesterday!

The Valentine's for the Boys'!

Here is the layout of the Valentine's that I will make for the boys for school. For these two, I used the DSP from the Valentine's Bundle. I will likely substitute other colors and DSP. Making these 3 X 3 cards really help to use up small scraps that would likely be thrown away!
The red card says "friend to friend" but, it is not showing up well in the photo.
Stay warm! And, enjoy the long weekend!

My Favorite, So Far!

Well, as mentioned yesterday. I recently received my Valentine's Bundle from SU! I got the DSP paper, a heart punch and a very Versatile stamp set!

I had a while to play yesterday and I made all sorts of samples! I love when they take the guess work out of it for me and have matching paper and coordinating colors.

I think that this card will be one of my workshop cards this month!

Last Chance For Christmas!

Okay, so here are my last two thank you cards for Christmas! The first card I did with More Mustard, Real Red and Garden Green. Very simple and to the point!

Below, you will see the classic Ballet Blue and Whisper White. Simple, Crisp and Elegant. Just the way I enjoy my stamping! Add a little Dazzling Diamonds and a Ribbon Slade and there you have it!

That is it for Christmas! I promise! I received my Valentine's Bundle and have been playing with it all morning! I have several pictures of cards that I am so tickled with! So, be sure to check in tomorrow and next week to see the results!

Stay warm!

Ask and you shall receive.

Happy Friday! I can not believe that 2009 is slipping away just as quickly as 2008 did!

I found out yesterday that I have yet another niece or nephew on the way. I had always thought that it would be awesome to be able to crochet blankets for my nieces and nephews. So, when I found out a couple of months ago that I had one on the way, I got right to work. And, now I find out that there is another baby in my future. My fingers may fall off before I get them done.

I can remember how special the afghans were that family and friends had made for my boys. They actually wore a couple of them out and still sleep with different ones today and they are 6 and 8. I hope that I can create the same memories for my incoming family!!!!

Have a nice weekend!

For a First Birthday.

We have a close family friend who will be turning one. His birthday party is this weekend. Here is the card that I came up with. I am thinking now that I look at it, that it may need another star. I will have to go back and work on that!

We are having another snow day today, but the difference today is that the kids are at school. I am kind of wishing they were here because the wind is blowing a hundred miles an hour and visibility is very low! Here's hoping they make it home safely! Yet, another reason why I say that I could never drive a school bus!

Stay warm!

Our Christmas Thank You's.

Good day! So, here we are sitting at home in the midst of another "ice" day! For most people this is no big deal, but for a daycare provider it really adds to my load. And, it hurt ecspecially when I was planning a nice quiet morning! The 4 kids that usually go to school are here all day along with the one year old! Luckily, one of the grandmothers kept the two additional children that would have been here, so I guess that it could be worse!

This is the quick thank you that I made for all of the lovely people in our lives that gave gifts to us! I wanted to whip them out quickly, so I stuck to a one layer card! First, I stamped the images in whisper white and then embossed them with white embossing powder to really make them pop!

Have a good day!

Let's try this again!

Here is a photo of a page that I did quickly this past weekend. I had tried to post it then, but it wouldn't take the picture. If it doesn't work this time I will take it as a sign that it is not meant to be!

I have a scrapbook page frame on my refrigerator and I like to keep a current picture of the boys in it. Here are the pictures that I took of them for Christmas cards!

Hope that you enjoy it!

Gift Giving Continued.

Here are two more fun little projects that I made for my dear friend Keri! I made a matching set of notecards and envelopes using some of SU!'s wonderful DSP. It is so hard to cut and part with, but it looks great! I hate that I hoard things so badly!

And, once again I used my Big Shot with the Basket and Blooms die to make a little "pot" of hershey kisses! Who can handle the stress of the holidays without dipping into some chocolate?

I hope that you are seeing some of the sunshine that we are blessed with today!

This ones for Keri!

So, nearly 3 years ago this lovely lady enters my life. I find myself depending on her daily stories, events and support. We have found ourself exchanging small gifts for Christmas. They have evolved to lovely handmade items. I was quite fortunate to receive several of her handmade masterpieces this year including ornaments and knitted dishclothes! This is the card that I made specifically for her! I used the XL Pennant die from the Big Shot.

And, here you will find one of my most favorite projects so far! This is a box made with the Big Shot machine. I cut out the paper and some cardboard. Then I made up a box out of cardstock to put between the top note layers. It was actually quite easy to do. Keri seemed to enjoy it, and I hope that you do too!

Enjoy your day!
