Just Love Dasher!

Dasher was a stamp that was offered last year.  It was an individual stamp and I just loved it.  I actually have a large dasher Christmas Frame that I made hanging in my kitchen for Christmas!  I love how it has a solid image and a "sketchy" element to it!

For this card I also used the Lattice Embossing folder.  I rubbed Cherry Cobbler ink on it prior to running it through the Big Shot.  Which leaves this awesome background!

Thank you for stopping by!

Simple and Lovely!

This is some of the specialty paper that is in the Holiday Mini Candlelight Christmas Specialty Paper Pack.  It is kind of like a transparency with a felt embossed design on it!  I think it is simply elegant!

Instead of hoarding it, I decided to use one of the sheets for cards.  So, I made 3 cards from one sheet.  I simply cut the sheet into four inch strips and adhered them to a Whisper White piece of Cardstock.

Then, I used More Merry Messages to add the greeting inside the cad.  I was going to add a ribbon to the outside, but that simply took away from the elegance of the card!

Have a great day!

Fab Fri 07

This time we got a layout challenge.  Pretty simple!  This layout lends itself to mass production for all of those Christmas Cards that we need to crank out!

So, I grabbed my Festival Of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and wa-la!

I used some Chocolate Chip Polka Dot Scalloped Ribbon and adhered it to the card and then added Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon.  Stamped on  a quick Merry Christmas greeting from More Merry Messages and there you have it!

Another card for the pile!

You can view the Fab Friday blog here:

http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/.  There are some lovely cards on there!

Have a great day!

Snow Swirled

Here is a card from last Christmas.  It used the Snow Swirled Set with Marina Mist.  I used the Snow Flurry Embossing folder for the background.  Then I added some satin ribbon and a brad.

Cute and festive!  Thanks for stopping in!

Fab Fri 06

Well, I finally got around to using the Fab Fri 06 Challenge.  This time we were assigned a color challenge:

I had initially thought about being able to turn this into a Christmas card, but I couldn't resist the Fall color idea and use it with Leaves!  So, this is what I came up with!

It looks okay, but it looks much nicer in real life!  Anyway, the card served a dual purpose and is now in the mail!

I stamped the leaves.  Then water colored them with the Blender Pens and ink pads.  Then I sponged extra ink on top of them!  I also sponged the background, which was hard to capture in a photo!

Anyway, there you have it!  There are many more cards using this color scheme on the Fab Fri site at http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/.

Have a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones!

Snow Much Fun.

Hello!  Thanks for checking in today!  This is a card that I actually made last year.  It was alot of work with all of the layers, but it sure is pretty!  I also colored it with my stamp pads and blender pens.

The silver glitter paper is so pretty and adds so much sparkle to a card!  It is still available this year in the Idea Book Catalog.  The paper is very easy to work with and is a great addition to your collection!

Have a great weekend!

Embellished Flowers

Embellished Events is the stamp set of the week!  Here is another card that I made.  This time I used the flowers and "Thinking of You" sentiment.

I stamped the flowers in Garden Green.  Then  I used a glue dot to adhere an In Color Dahlia to each of the stems.  These little Dahlias are the cutest ever!

I also used the Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder for the background.  And, I used some Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon.

It is hard to see in the full picture, but I did use my Spritzer Tool to add some Primrose Petals "spritz" to the card!

Have a great day!

Embellished Events

This is another set that I have liked from the catalog.  Luckily, SU! just offered a sale, so I invested in  a couple of sets that I may not otherwise have purchased.

Embellished Events is a  cute set that can be used for many occasions.  Weddings, Christmas, Birthdays, New Babies and much more!  What I really like about this set is that it has images and greetings combined.  So, you can create many cards from one set!

For this card I used only the Santa Hat and Merry Christmas Sentiment!  It was quick and simple!  I used the new Lacy Brocade embossing folder for the background.

I added a rhinestone for the pom-pom on the hat.  And, lastly I added some dazzling diamonds for a little more shimmer!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fab Friday 05

This week we were given another sketch challenge on the Fab Friday blog.  The sketch is:

This is my take on the sketch:

In yesterdays Stampin' Up! order I got this Two  by Two stamp.  I have admired it since the catalog came out and finally got my hands on it!

I chose Bashful Blue, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla for card stock.  I embossed the Very Vanilla piece with the New Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  For the image, I embossed it with Black embossing powder and my heat tool.  Then water colored it with ink, pencils and my blender pens.

I really enjoyed this sketch and hope that you do to.  You can check out the Fab Friday blog at:  http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/.   There you can see how others used the sketch!  Lots of great ideas!

Have a great day!

Birthday Greetings!

This is a card that I made for my brother in law!  I like how it turned out.  I used some retired products and some new products.

I have not been a big lover of the fabric.  But, when I do use it, this is the way that I do!

I simply cut a strip of it and use it as ribbon!  I like the dimension and texture that it adds to a card.

Have a great day!

Cherry Cobbler Christmas

This is a card that I made with the left over pieces of card stock from my last workshop.  Kind of the same idea as another card that I recently posted, but different!

I used some strips of DSP from the Festive Prints DSP stack.   I snipped the ends of the paper to make it look like ribbon.

Then adhered them to the Holiday Frame Embossing Folder in Very Vanilla.

The best part about this is that I won't have to pay extra postage when I mail it!

Happy Halloween!

Winter Memories Sled

This is another image from the Winter Memories stamp set.  Although, I really love the skates, this stamp is very pretty too!  I watercolored the images and mounted it on a cut out of the Holiday Frame embossing folder.  And, then layered that on a piece of DSP from the Comfort Cafe pack.

Everyone stay safe!  Sandy is really creating a problem!

Great Idea!

Have you ever had one of those moments when you think:  Why didn't I think of that?  Well, how simple is coloring your Rhinestone Jewels with Sharpie markers?

Yup, I can't take credit for it, but it is an amazing idea!  And, it adds great interest to a card!

For the above card, I simply colored the Rhinestones Turquoise and Red with my Sharpies.  I stamped the Christmas Tree and then added the Rhinestones!  Wa-La!  Pretty simple, right?  Someday, I promise I will discover something fun that others will enjoy.  Until then, I have to find the great ideas that others come up with and demonstrate them!

Have a great weekend.  I have a workshop tonight!  Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!

More Ice Skates

Oh, didn't you miss the Christmas ideas!?!??  I made this card a while ago.  I embossed the skates from the Winter Memories stamp set with Black Embossing powder.  This time I only colored the holly and berries above the skates.

I made a fancy little bow to drape down around the skates, and mounted it all on a piece of paper from the Festival of Prints DSP stack.  Yes, I know you have heard all about it!!!

Have a great day!

Cheerful Triple Time

Good Morning!  This is a quick thank you card that I made using some bright cheery colors!  I used my Mixed Bunch stamp set in Daffodil Delight,  Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute.

Come back tomorrow to get back on with the Christmas train!

Triple Time Anniversary!

This is a card that I made for my brother and sister in law for their anniversary!   Yes, yes I know you are tired of the triple time stamping.  I have one more to show you and then we can return to the Christmas cards.  So, if you are over the triple time stamping come back on Thursday and we will return to the regularly scheduled program!

This card was fun to make.  I used Everything Eleanor.  I don't use this set as often as I had hoped for.  I combined it with the Raspberry Ripple and Sahara Sand.  I love this combination.  Girly, yet not over the top!

Make the best of today!  It is rainy and dark here....tomorrow is another day!

Getting Scrappy

Well, happy Monday morning!  Isn't it a great Fall day!  Well, it is here anyway!  We had a wonderful weekend.   Full of getting apples, hiking and a wonderful Anniversary dinner!

We went on  a hike at a local State Park on Saturday.  We had some friends with us.  One of which offered to take a photo of our whole family.  We don't have many of these!  So, this was nice!

Of course, the fridge frame needed to be updated from the first day of school photos!  So, this was perfect timing!

This layout is not exclusively Stampin' Up!  I hope that SU! comes out with some burlap ribbon!  I love the look of burlap and they currently don't offer the product!

I  used the Gently Falling stamp set in Pear Pizzaz, Early Espresso and Sahara Sand to make the leaves.  I love this set!  Then, I added a button to the burlap for the finishing touches!

Thanks for stopping in!   Have a great week!

Fab Friday 04

Well, Fab Friday came and went....actually it is still going on, but I didn't get my card made until yesterday.  So, appropriately I am posting on Friday! The challenge this week is a color challenge.  I think that I am better at a layout then a sketch, but I attempted this one anyway!

Needless to say, this was a real challenge for me!  But, I think I worked my way around it!  Hopefully this card fits the bill!

I used the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper.  I know that all of the colors are not included in the paper, but I think it worked!

I added some Summer Starfruit 3/8 inch Stitched Satin ribbon in a couple of different ways to add some color.

I had fun making this card and it served double duty as it was sent to a dear stamping friend for her birthday!  I love accomplishing two things at once!

You can check out what some other talented stampers did with this color challenge at the Fab Friday website: http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/.

Have a fantastic weekend!

More Skates

I had mentioned that I love this image.  Here is another sample using Winter Memories!  So simple!  So beautiful!

I used the Holiday Frame embossing folder on Very Vanilla.  Then I cut out around the embossed oval.  Yes, it took a minute, but well worth the result.  The DSP is from the Festival Of Prints Stack.  I love these colors!

I will have to take a break from Christmas cards for a while, but I have some other neat things to show you!

Triple Time Candy Cane

Here is  a card the combines two great items.  Triple Time Stamping and the Scentsational Season stamp set.  How cute are these candy canes?  I simply used Real Red and Whisper White Card Stock.  I took some Organdy White ribbon and sponged on some Real Red ink....wa-la beautiful Real Red Organdy ribbon!

The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Make it a great day!

Paper Ribbon

Good Monday morning!  Here is a card that I made for Christmas using the Scentsational Season stamp set.  This time I didn't use the Framelits, just stamped and colored the eyes and detailing with a marker.

I made the paper ribbon for the top of the card.  I simply cut the base piece from card stock and then snipped the ends to look like ribbon.  Then, I took a second piece and looped the ends around and adhered it to the base piece.  Finally, I took a small piece of card stock and made a single loop and adhered it to the top of the ribbon.  It looks very nice in real life!

Hope that you have a productive week!

Stitched Felt

Stampin' Up! has yet to sell a stitched felt piece that I haven't fell in love with!  I just love it all!  This time around it is the Handmade Holidays Stitched Felt in Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Gree and Whisper White.

I used strips of "paper ribbon" from the Festival of Prints DSP stack that I spoke of in yesterdays post.

Just love how simple it is, almost NO stamping!

Have a great weekend!

Onward with Christmas!

If you have gotten a chance to look at the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog you will notice that the new theme seems to be Framelits.  There are many coordinating stamp sets and framelits.  Which makes for easy creating.  So, many of my customers hate cutting out images.  The framelits are appealing to many!

The set that I used for todays card is using the same idea.  Scentsational Season is a stampset that also has a freamelit set available to easily cut out the images in the stamp set.

For this card I used the Big Shot to cut out the images from by background piece of card stock.  I then adhered different pieces of DSP behind the cut out images.  I love how this looks!  It is also a great way to use scrap paper!

The DSP is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack.  This is a must have in my book.  I will actually need to order another one with my next order.  This pack contains 48 double sided sheets.  They are the perfect size at 4 and 1/2 by 6 and 1/2 inches.  Which makes them the perfect size to mount photos for scrapbooking!  This paper stack is only $6.95.

One other thing that I forgot to mention is that in the Holiday catalog the Framelits and Stampsets can be "bundled" for additional savings.  You can't beat that!  And, it goes without saying that I now own each of the bundles from the catalog!  I can't resist a deal!

Have a great day!

Another Ornament.

Sorry about the little blur in this photo.  I hadn't noticed that when I took the photo.

This is another card using the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set and Framelits.  For this one, I layered the center of the ornament by punching out several circles.

All of these goodies are available in the Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up!

Happy Hump Day!

Winter Memories!

This set, Winter Memories, is quickly becoming a favorite!  I am so in love with the ice skates that I have not even used the other two images in the set.  I can not believe how easy it is to create a great water colored pair of skates!

For this card I used Winter Memories.  I chose the colors of Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler.  I embossed the skates with Black embossing powder and then water colored them with my ink pads and blender pens.

For the background I used the Holiday Frame embossing folder.  And, then I added some Cherry Cobbler seam binding for the bow.

I love how this card turned out!
Have a great Tuesday!

Christmas Is Coming

Well, isn't technology a lovely thing?  It is awesome when it works, but when it doesn't, it really puts a kink in things!  Anyway, I am back with a new computer and hopefully can continue blogging on a regular basis!

The last time that I was able to post I had mentioned goodies from the Holiday Catalog.  Well, I did get a chance to play and have made many awesome (in my humble mind!) cards.

This card used the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set and Framelits.  When I first saw this set I thought of so many ways to use it.  When I got it, I loved it!  I also used the Holiday Frame Textured Embossing Folder.  This folder is so elegant!  I just love it!

I used Lucky Limeade, Real Red and Whisper White for colors.  The sentiment is from the Winter Memories stamp set.

Thanks for stopping  by!

I Told You Christmas Was Coming!

I haven't even gotten into Fall, yet!  But, with yesterdays delivery, I will be thinking Christmas!  These are the goodies that I will get to play with as soon as I get a free minute!  I can't wait!  It almost makes me want to start my Christmas shopping!

Stay tuned for some Christmas goodness!

Doesn't Get Easier Than This!

For those of you who say "I can't make a card" this one is for you!  No matter what the occassion, there is a quick way to create a card!  This is DSP from Orchard Harvest.  I used Island Inidgo and Naturals Ivory.  The Sentiment is from Curly Cute.  It didn't take long to throw this one together!

And, if you are tired of seeing Orchard Harvest, come back soon!  Today, I am expecting an order with Christmas Goodies!  Yes, it is that time of the year!

Enjoy!

Another Triple Time!

As you should have expected, here is another Triple Time card!  I just love this.  Every time I look at a card with this layout, it just amazes me!  It is so easy yet so stunning!

For this card I used Day of Gratitude.  I used Garden Green, Not Quite Navy and Caju Craze.   I just love the results!

Thanks for stopping in, have a great day!

Fab Friday Blog Challenge

I found a site that gives a challenge every other Friday!    The site is Fab Friday Challenge Blog.  You can find it here: http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com    This week their theme is a sketch:

I used this sketch to create this:

I used Island Indigo and Very Vanilla.  The DSP is from Orchard Harvest.  The image is from the set called Serene Silhouettes.  I also used the Fancy Fans Embossing Folder to add a little something to the background.

I love how it turned out!  I love the inspiration!  And, I can't wait to frequent their site and participate!  You can also click the link above to view how others used the sketch!  Great inspiration!

Make it a great day!

Perfectly Preserved

This is a simple thank you note that I used for my birthday thank-you's.  I like quick and simple (as if you hadn't guessed).  I used a little DSP scraps to turn this card into a dandy!

The Perfectly Preserved Stamp set and Framelits make it so easy.   Each image in the set has a framelit that you can use to cut the stamped image out perfectly.  It is like having a punch for every image!

Enjoy your day!

Countryside Birthday

Here is a card that I just made this weekend.  I have seen several ladies stamping on DSP.  It is a simple technique, and quite easy to replicate.  I think you have to be cautious not to make the image too light.  And, maybe I could have colored this image in a little darker, but I still think it looks okay.

I stamped the image in Basic Black.  Then I used my Water Color Wonder Crayons to color it.  Then used an aquapainter to blend it together.

Have a great evening!

Triple Time Stamping!

Quick disclosure, before I begin this post:  You may see alot of this in the future on my blog!!!

So, this is Triple Stamping.  I have seen many stampers using this technique.  I have even been sent a card in a swap using this technique.  Honestly, I wrote it off as "too hard."  So,  I didn't give it a try.    Friday night at my workshop, one of my stampers loved the card that I had from the swap.  She said "I heard it wasn't that hard."

So, I had a minute.  I googled Triple Time Stamping.  I found many tutorials.  And, this card literally took less than 10 minutes to create.

I used the set Gently Falling with Garden Green, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard.  This is such an easy technique, I am actually embarrassed that it took me this long to give it a try!  But, alas I did.

I will be demonstrating this at my next workshop.  You can Google Triple Time Stamping or send me an email at judybailey75@yahoo to get the instructions!

Never be afraid to try something new!  You might like it!  Lesson learned!

Workshop Card.

This card might look familiar to you.  I used the same template, different animal for Ryans birthday card.  This was the original card that I had made using a color scheme from the catalog.  I used my markers to color the lion image.  The colors on the lion are Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade.

The ladies enjoyed this card and the new products from the Mini Catalog.  We had a ton of fun on Friday night!

Enjoy your Monday!
