Stampin' Success Inspiration.

I recently found a page similar to this in the Stampin' Success magazine. I thought it would be cute to try one. After I tried placing the elements on the page I realized that in the magazine, they used a 8 X 1/2 by 8 and 1/2 page. So, mine was going to be a little "tight."
The little felt flower is from the Sweet Pea Felt pack. I am loving these little things. For only $7.95 you get a variety of pieces that can work together or stand alone! I love them and I hope that when the new catalog comes out there will be oodles more of them to choose from!
Happy Saturday!

A Pleasant Surprise.

The other night when I sat down to use some more of my new products, I grabbed some Chocolate Chip and Pretty In Pink card stock. I embossed the Chocolate Chip piece with one of my favorite embossing plates. Then used my edge punch to do both edges of the card stock. I tied around a piece of satin Pretty In Pink ribbon and made a tag using my wide oval punch. I sponged on some Chocolate Chip ink to add some depth to the tag. Then attached it with a dimensional.

As I got to this point, I was stumped. Stumped because I really liked the way it looked just this way! So, I tried a couple of things to add to the card. And, I found that I really liked it just like this! That is the way I decided to keep it. Sometimes, I find that if I am trying to force something, I end up unhappy with the result! I will leave it this way and be happy with the card.
Have a happy Friday!!

Time To Play!

As I had hoped, I had time to go up and use some of my new supplies last night! I have fallen in love with two more SU! products. First, these Sweet Pea Felt Flowers are lovely! They make making a card so simple! You really don't have to do a lot to a card to make it complete once adding a few pieces of felt flowers. I also really like the wide oval punch. I hadn't previously ordered it because it didn't layer with the other oval punches. But, I decided that if I was going to have Well Scripted, I needed the punch. So, I stamped the greeting, punched it out and sponged the edges. I am really pleased with the results. I also used the SAB punch for this card. I put a piece of pink card stock on the inside of the card, so it shows through the punch and adds color to the inside of the card!
Thanks for checking in!

So Many New Toys, No Time To Play!

Well, yesterday was the day for my new goodies to arrive from my first SAB and Occasions Mini workshop. I have so many neat things to try out, but no time to do it!

I did get to go upstairs for about 10 minutes last night to play with a couple of things! Here is a very quick and simple card that I made. I am absolutely loving my new bird punch! I used it on my swap cards for this months SUDEMOONLY swap, and had amazing results. The DSP paper that I used here is from the SAB DSP Welcome Neighbor paper. That means it was FREE!!! The edge was punched using another FREE product the Scallop Trim Border punch! The greeting is from the Well Scripted Set in the Occasions Mini catalog. And, the Pretty In Pink Satin ribbon is also featured in the mini! I am loving this ribbon!

I am hoping for about an hour in the stamping room tonight, so hopefully I will have more fun to share tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!

More Monkeys!

Monkeys are on my mind, apparently! Here is another card using the Fox & Friends set. This time I stamped the monkyes in Close to Cocoa and colored them with Creamy Caramel. I took the time to cut out the three monkeys. A little time consuming, but I like how they look. I used my Big Shot and Little Leaves Sizzlit to cut out the leaves in Old Olive. I attached the monkeys with a dimensional so that they are popping off of the card.

Maybe, it could use another monkey down on the bottom leaf?

Have a nice day!

Monkeying Around.

One of the little ones that I babysit, is turning 2 this weekend. She likes to "monkey around." So, I thought it would be cute to make her a monkey card. I used the vine from Cheep Talk and hung the monkey from the vine.

I also stamped her wrapping paper for her gift with the Fox & Friends stamp set.

Have a good day!

My Least Favorite Kind of Card.

Unfortunately, I had the need to make a Sympathy card last week. It is for a very special friend. I used my Night and Day Specialty paper from the Holiday mini. And, I used the Fifth Avenue Floral Set.
Unfortunately, I have to make another Sympathy card for a friend from church who just lost her mother. I guess it is true when it rains, it pours!
Have a nice day!

The Final Workshop Card!

I think this card is my favorite from the workshop. I have used this color combination and layout in the past, but this time I used my Vintage Vogue stamp set. I used Brocade Blue and Certainly Celery ink and cardstock. I stamped on Very Vanilla.
The clear mount stamps make it so easy to line up the images. I am so glad that I took the leap to try clear stamps.
I was almost going to use this card for my SUDEMOONLY swaps this month, but decided to mix it up a little bit. So, I will have to see what I come up with. I am thinking the same colors and stamp set, but some other added goodies too!
Have a good one!

A Valentines Workshop Card.

Last night I held my first SAB workshop of the season! What fun it is to order SU! products and receive more of the products that we love for FREE!
This is a Valentines Day card that I came up with. I used the Big Shot to cut out the Scallop Edge Envelope and embossed it with and embossing plate. We used the heart punch to punch out DSP, stamped images or solid real red cardstock and glued the hearts randomly on the envelope.
We had a nice time and now have more goodies on the way!
Enjoy your weekend!

A Card For a 2 Year Old.

Here is a card that I whipped up yesterday. We have a family friend who is 2 years old now! I used Sahara Sand and Not Quite Navy with my Fox & Friends stamp set. These little animals lend themselves to a very cute outcome! I am so glad that I ordered this set, as I have used it many times all ready!
Have a great day!

Quick Christmas Thank Yous.

This is the quick thank you note that I made for our family and friends. I used the Patterned Pines stamp set with Handsome Hunter ink.
I tied a piece of elastic silver cord diagonally across the image.
I hope that all enjoyed them!

I Accomplished More Scrapbooking.

Here we have pictures from last Spring when we went to the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown! What a lovely little place to visit. If you ever get a chance, this is a lovely place to spend the day. They have many buildings that take you back in time. A schoolhouse, Leather Shop, Candleshop etc...We all loved it!

Again, I used some retired DSP. I actually didn't even know that I had this paper. I was looking for something else and came across an unused pack of DSP! That is always fun!

Have a good one!

Another Scrapbook Page.

I am finally using some of the retired DSP that I seem to hoard. I don't know why I buy it, sometimes? I truly intend to use it. Then when it comes time too, I seem to convince myself that I should save it for another use! Before I know it, it is retired!
Anyway, another page done. These photos are from our April 2009 vacation. This means that I am not quite a year behind, yet! I seem to be taking less and less pictures as the kids get older. So, I should be caught up in no time!
Have a good one!

One Workshop Card.

This is a card that I think we are going to make at next weeks workshop. It is using the Viola stamp set. I had traded for this set a long while ago. The only stamp that was mounted was the Happy Birthday part. So, I had to mount the set. I had forgotten what a pain it was to cut these out, now that they come pre-cut! But, I survived.

I used some of the paper from the Tea Party DSP to make his pants. Then I used Taken with Teal for the accent colors. It doesn't show really well, but I did use Dazzling Diamonds on the cake.

Now, that I have the set mounted, maybe I will use it more!

Have a great day!

Another Combination of Stamp Sets.

This time I combined Fox & Friends with Cheep Talk. I used my markers to color the branches Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. Then I cut out the owl and popped him up with a dimensional.

For the corners I used my craft knife and cut little slits diagonally in the corners to slip the white paper through. I also used my spritzer tool to add a little green to the background.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Lovely Use of DSP!

Here is a card that I made using the new DSP in the Occassions Mini Catalog. The striped paper and the butterfly and flower paper are from the paper pack. I just punched out the designs that I wanted to use and adhered them to the cardstock.
I stamped a simple oval tag and placed it on the edge! This is a prime example of why I love Stampin' Up! so much. This is literally a five minute card, and can be done with so many color schemes!
Have a great day!

A Combination of Stamp Sets.

This is something that I don't do very often. Why? I really don't know. But, for this card I combined 3 stamp sets. Teeny Tiny Verses, Fox & Friends and Thoughts and Prayers. I just loved this little turtle and I thought he would look cute under the tree.
I used my Texturz plates to put some polka dots on the green cardstock. And, I tied some Linen Thread around the card for a little extra.
Enjoy your day getting back into routine!

Frosty Friends Inspiration!

So above, you will find a beautiful scrapbook page that my dear and talented friend Keri created! She does some of the most amazing scrapbooking I have ever seen! I love it! She combines many elements and many companies. Always coming up with wonderful results! This is a page that she posted on her blog recently. When I saw it I was instantly inspired. So upstairs I went!

I know, my work is not the same as Keri's. Her layout and page is definately finer than mine. But, for me this is some of the best results that I have had in a long time.

I used some of the new Sweet Pea DSP that SU! is offering in the Occassions Mini catalog. I stamped some snowflakes from the Patterned Pines Hostess set in Taken in Teal, Whisper White (and embossed them with white embossing powder) and shimmer paints. I distressed my chipboard with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.

So, there you have it! One of my master pieces of the day! I have come to several conclusions....first, I have to be more creative and use more of my supplies on hand. I also need a scanner to make my pages picture better.

Anyway, this is what I have to work with at the moment! Thank you Keri for the inspiration!
