Fab Friday Blog Challenge

I found a site that gives a challenge every other Friday!    The site is Fab Friday Challenge Blog.  You can find it here: http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com    This week their theme is a sketch:

I used this sketch to create this:

I used Island Indigo and Very Vanilla.  The DSP is from Orchard Harvest.  The image is from the set called Serene Silhouettes.  I also used the Fancy Fans Embossing Folder to add a little something to the background.

I love how it turned out!  I love the inspiration!  And, I can't wait to frequent their site and participate!  You can also click the link above to view how others used the sketch!  Great inspiration!

Make it a great day!

Perfectly Preserved

This is a simple thank you note that I used for my birthday thank-you's.  I like quick and simple (as if you hadn't guessed).  I used a little DSP scraps to turn this card into a dandy!

The Perfectly Preserved Stamp set and Framelits make it so easy.   Each image in the set has a framelit that you can use to cut the stamped image out perfectly.  It is like having a punch for every image!

Enjoy your day!

Countryside Birthday

Here is a card that I just made this weekend.  I have seen several ladies stamping on DSP.  It is a simple technique, and quite easy to replicate.  I think you have to be cautious not to make the image too light.  And, maybe I could have colored this image in a little darker, but I still think it looks okay.

I stamped the image in Basic Black.  Then I used my Water Color Wonder Crayons to color it.  Then used an aquapainter to blend it together.

Have a great evening!

Triple Time Stamping!

Quick disclosure, before I begin this post:  You may see alot of this in the future on my blog!!!

So, this is Triple Stamping.  I have seen many stampers using this technique.  I have even been sent a card in a swap using this technique.  Honestly, I wrote it off as "too hard."  So,  I didn't give it a try.    Friday night at my workshop, one of my stampers loved the card that I had from the swap.  She said "I heard it wasn't that hard."

So, I had a minute.  I googled Triple Time Stamping.  I found many tutorials.  And, this card literally took less than 10 minutes to create.

I used the set Gently Falling with Garden Green, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard.  This is such an easy technique, I am actually embarrassed that it took me this long to give it a try!  But, alas I did.

I will be demonstrating this at my next workshop.  You can Google Triple Time Stamping or send me an email at judybailey75@yahoo to get the instructions!

Never be afraid to try something new!  You might like it!  Lesson learned!

Workshop Card.

This card might look familiar to you.  I used the same template, different animal for Ryans birthday card.  This was the original card that I had made using a color scheme from the catalog.  I used my markers to color the lion image.  The colors on the lion are Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade.

The ladies enjoyed this card and the new products from the Mini Catalog.  We had a ton of fun on Friday night!

Enjoy your Monday!

Back To School

Like everyone else, our kids started school in September.  Of course, I had to take photos!  Of course, I had to scrap a page for my refrigerator page frame.   I like to keep something fairly current in there!

I had a ton of fun with this layout.  I used many samples of the New Orchard Harvest DSP.  I pulled the Island Indigo and Early Espresso and used them for my base colors.

I love the little strips of paper flags that I made.  It took a little time, but looks great!

Happy Stamping!  I have a workshop here at my house tonight, that is always fun!

Anniversary Poppies

Pleasant Poppies is one of the new Background Stamps that I just love from Stampin' Up!  I usually don't buy many of them because I found that I don't use them often enough.  When I saw Pleasant Poppies, I knew that I had to have it!  And, I am so glad that I have it to use!

It is easy enough to use and not have to color.  But, when you want to get fancy, you can!  For this card I simply stamped it in Versa Mark and then embossed it with Black Embossing powder.  Then I used my Blender Pens and Ink to color in the images!

I also used the Apothecary Accents Framelits, Fancy Fans Embossing Folder and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.   I also added some sponging.  The ribbon is FREE this month with the Back To Spool promotion.

Make it a great day!

Same Idea, Different Colors.

Here we have two very simple cards that I created using some scraps and extra pieces of DSP.  The DSP is Comfort Cafe'.  The top sample uses Soft Suede Cardstock and Ink.

This sample uses Cajun Craze cardstock and ink.  I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I cut the shape in half and added half of it to the top and the other half to the bottom of the sentiment.

Have  a Terrific Tuesday!

Swap Inspiration.

Last month, Sharon from SUDEMOONLY sent me a card using this layout.  I decided to use it, but change a couple of things.

The DSP is Orchard Harvest.  I just love this DSP!  I love the Fall feeling and colors!  I also used the  new 7/8" Cotton Ribbon and the Border Banter Stamp Set.  I used some Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped directly on the ribbon.  I love that you can do this!  How simple to make it your own!

This card, was so easy to make.  And, it also uses up scrap paper too!

Have a great week!

Our Little Man's 10th Birthday!

So, the only thing appropriate for me to say today is "where has the time gone?"  It is so hard to believe that our youngest turned 10 today!  Ryan is growing up so fast, it is hard to believe.

Ryan's favority animal is the giraffe.  So, it is a sure bet that he will love this card!  I used a design from the Holiday Mini Catalog page 30.  I didn't have the Netting Background stamp at the time that I made this card so I used Extreme Elements.  Since then I have ordered the Netting Background and also received it.

The DSP is also from the Holiday Mini Catalog it is called Orchard Harvest!  I love Fall and the color combination in this pack.

Happy Friday!  Have a great weekend!

Friendshop Preserves

Good morning!  So, here we will begin the tour of the New Holiday Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog.  At first, I didn't "need" much!  Isn't that how it works.  After a couple of weeks, I have bunches of goodies from the catalog.

This set is Friendshop Preserves.  It coordinates with the Framelits Dies Window Frames Collection.  I love that SU! is introducing so many framelits.  Not to mention that they are also "bundling" the framelits with coordinating stamp sets and offering them at a discount.  How can you go wrong?

For this card I used Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla.  I added some Victoria Crochet trim for detail.  The background is the Woodgrain Embossing Folder!

These framelits make is SO easy to create a card.  I love the shapes and detail that they add.  I simply stamp, line up the framelit and run it through the big shot.  So simple!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday To Our Niece!

Our niece recently turned 3 years old!  The theme for her party was butterflies, so of course we had to run with it for the card!

I started with some vellum and Melon Mambo along with my Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die.  I layered them and wrapped them with some Linen Thread for the body and antenae.

I also embossed with my Fancy Fan embossing folder!  Such fun to make a "girl" card!  The boys just don't appreciate this!!

Happy Hump Day!

Sharon's Lovely Swap Card.

Happy Tuesday!  This week is going to be over with before we know it!

This is the card that I received from Sharon for our SUDEMOONLY Swap.  She used the Petite Pennant Builder Punch to create a festive banner.

Thanks for sharing, Sharon!

See you right back here tomorrow!

SUDEMOONLY Demonstrator September Swap.

Well, hello there!  Happy Monday.  Here we are the first full week of school, Fall is in the air!
It is hard to believe that we are approaching my favorite time of the year!  I love Autumn!  I love all of the colors, smells and fun that come with it!

For the September Swap the theme was "favorite team colors."  I used Daffodil Delight and White.  Which are the colors for the boys' Fall Ball Baseball Team.  I have a great time watching them, so of course whatever team they are on, is my favorite team!

I used the new embossing folder Woodgrain!  I can see this alot in my future!  It is so natural and leaves behind a great texture.  The Stamps are from Everything Eleanor.  And, the sentiment is from Word Play.

Stay tuned this week.  I got a chance to do a bunch of stamping this weekend!  Oh, the fun!

Shoe Box Swap Continued.

This is the card that "the other Jessica" brought for us to create.  She used a popsicle stick for the stem.  How cute is that?  We just sponged the ink onto the stick and wa-la!

I thought that the use of the paper circles was great!  That was something that I hadn't tried!

Thank God It's Friday!  Have a great weekend!

Lisa's Amazing Little Album!

Lisa made 8 of these little books for us!  She is a part of our group, but lives faraway!  So, she mails in our swaps.  I was amazed with the detail of this project!  They must have taken her days to complete!

Each page is decorated and has a tab to pull up or out to add photos if we would like!

My only struggle is what to put in the book.  It is so elegant as is, that I think anything that I add to it would take away from its beauty!

Great idea, Lisa!  Thanks for sharing!

Jessica's Projects

Jessica showed us how to make two projects.  One is a fabric ornament the other a small  box using the Big Shot.

The ornament was really simple to make.  We used the Jumbo Sticky Rounds from the Mini Catalog.  You twist up a strip of ribbon and wrap it around itself while sticking it to the Sticky Round.   We finished it off with some ribbon for a hanger and a pearl in the center.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hostess Box.

At the last demonstrator get together that we had.   Diana helped us create this box from cardstock.   These projects really make me appreciate my customers at my workshops!  Sometimes, it is easier to show how to do a project, and others it is easier to make it!  This box will hold cards or little trinkets.

After a little fiasco, I was able to make a box that looked okay.  I did score the paper a little violently, which resulted in some of the creases actually splitting.  But, a little clear tape mended the situation!

I don't know that I have the courage to make this box with my ladies, but it was neat to learn how to create!

Happy Labor Day!
