Merry Christmas!

All of the excitement is about to come to a head! Can you believe that it is here? From what I heard, any store was no place to be this past weekend! I am so glad to be done and ready. Of course, there is still some baking to do, but when is there not baking to do?

Hopefully, tomorrow I will be posting some more craft items! I will work on that for you!

Thanks for looking!

Another Project Completed!

Here are the boys and I doing one of our favorite things (the other favorite is eating them). They love to help me frost the sugar and gingerbread cookies. I am learning to be patient and let them go. I have been so anal over the years. I guess, in part because I am used to doing them myself! Certain cookies had to be certain colors with just the right amount of sprinkles! But, thanks to my little helpers, I have loosened up a bit and can tolerate a little more exploration in the kitchen!

An Oldy, But Goody!

So, here it is almost Christmas and I am showing you some pretty flowers. Why am I showing you flowers in December, you ask? Well, the answer to that is because I have been working on a bunch of Christmas gifts and I haven't gotten to the Post Office to mail them because we have a blizzard every other day here! I have all of my stuff together and no hope of getting ot them mailed until Thursday. Doesn't that sound painful?

For this card I use my markers to color directly onto the stamp. Then I "huff" a few warm breaths on the stamp to make sure that the ink is moist and then stamp it onto my paper. I have done this card at workshops and the ladies love to see how easy it is to add several colors to one stamp!

Here's hoping that we don't have another snow day tomorrow, but it really doesn't look good!

A Tango Tangerine Thank You.

Well, we have made it to the 10th day before Christmas, are you ready? If we didn't get back to town for gifts, we would be fine. But, I do have a couple of small stocking type items that I would like to grab this week. And, food is a definite need now. I have to get my menus planned and lists made. Because, after Thursday our shopping time is over!!!

Here is a very simple Thank You card that I had made for my in-laws. It is all done in Tango Tangerine. I enjoy this color in clothing, but have a difficult time with it in stamping. Go figure!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Simple Birthday

Good morning! How are we all doing keeping up with the hustle and bustle? We are in pretty good shape. I have only stocking stuff to pick up and the baking is half done. So, I am feeling pretty good about the whole thing!

This card is a simple card that I made using a set from last years SAB. And, the seeing spots set. Which is one of my favorites, because it so versatile! I matched the colors up with some retired DSP and there you have it!

Don't stress yourself out keeping up! Take it one day at a time and you will be just fine!

Have a great day!

A Christmas Frame

Hello! We had our first one hour delay of school this morning. It was icy! What a nice surprise to have 5 kids for an extra hour!!

Here is a frame that I recently made. I was granted a wish on the SUDEMOONLY site for the ribbon. I just love the ribbon. I didn't want to put it on a card and mail it away. So I thought that I would use it for a little home decor. So, with some DSP, Felt flurries adn die cuts from my Big Shot I came up with this frame. The dazzling diamonds really look nice in real life...they look quite dull in the picture!

Have a good day!

A John Deere Birthday.

Good Monday! We managed to muscle our way through the weekend! Our son turned 8 on Friday! We had family in Friday night for his birthday. Saturday night we had some company and Sunday after church, we had a bowling party for two hours! Kyle had a great weekend and loved everything about it!!

This is the card that I made for him. Tractor Time was the first set of stamps that I ever bought from SU! As other sets have come and gone, this one stays in my collection and it will be there for a very long time. With each new catalog, I hope for a new "real" tractor set, but have had no luck so far! Maybe, next month that will all change!

I am off to check the SU! retirement list!

My Christmas Card

It is finally okay for me to reveal my Christmas card. 60 of them have been made, mailed and I assume received!

As soon as I saw this set I thought that I would use it for my cards. I loved the design, but didn't love the idea of coloring the whole image in. So, I compromised. I used the image and dazzling diamonds, ribbon, my Big Shot and a cuttlebug embossing folder to dress it up a little!

Have a great weekend!

Yes, I know it is not stamped...

I do realize that this project is not using SU! supplies. But, I wanted to check in and keep you up to date on what I have been working on. It is hand made at least!

My father taught us how to make these wreaths (and the beautiful bows) when we were kids. My brothers and I used to make them and sell them! Now, we make them to enjoy ourselves!

It has been quite crazy around here as I assume it is for most of us at this time of the year. Added to the holidays we have our oldest sons birthday on Friday and his bowling party on Sunday. I am trying to take it one step at a time to meet all of my deadlines!

Stay warm!

Another Go At The Ornaments.

Happy Monday after Thanksgiving! By now, we should have the leftovers about used up! We should also be doing some serious thinking about Christmas, which will be here sooner than we think!

Here is another spin on the Christmas ornament that I had made. This one is made the same way, but instead of using a photo, I simply added a stamped image. This makes the ornament extremely versatile. I did this one for a Christmas Exchange that I did with the SUDEMOONLY group that I belong too! I certainly hope that the recipient enjoys it!

Have a great week! The count down is on and there is SO much to do!!!

A Christmas Thank You!

Here are some simple little baby jars that I decorated and filled with hershey kisses for the ladies who attended my all day card making workshop last week. They were fairly easy to make...the tough part was making the paper stick all the way around the jars. Even with sticky strip the cardstock was trying to pop off. But, none the less the ladies each chose a jar and went home happy!

Have a great day!

A Sunny Spot on A Winter Day!

Here is my attempt to brighten the day and melt the snow! Monday night while my son was in the tub, I went across the hallway to create a card for my blog...And, the next thing that I know I have a master piece!

I have loved this set since the catalog came out. I am always pleased with the results. And, again you see the use of the Big Shot!

I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving and don't eat too much turkey!!!

Finally, I am going to be an Aunt!

A couple of weeks ago, I found out that I am going to be an Aunt for the first time. My brother and his wife are due with their first child in June. They are not going to find out if it is a boy or a girl.

So, I tried to make a card that was neutral. I have a terrible time with this! Give me pink or blue and let me go....I can handle it. But, when it comes to neutal I struggle a bit.

Here is the simple card that I came up with for them. I will work on the shower card and hopefully come up with something a whole lot more creative. But, this is what I have for now!

And, now if June would only get here!! We would have a baby and beautiful weather! This snow and cold is getting old all ready! I better hang tight and learn to be patient!

Happy Day!

A Simple Big Shot Card

A quick kids card using the large scallop from the Big Shot. It is really simple to make a card like this. Place your folded paper over the die but, leave part of the edge exposed so that you have a fold. I wasn't sure what to do with it once I cut it out, but then decided that the scallop would make a great kids card! I have been amazed at what a hit the Big Shot has been with my ladies. I did not think that I would sell a single one...guess what? I just placed the order for the second one...the ladies are loving it. I can not wait until the new catalog comes out and I see what other dies they have to offer!!!

Enjoy the evening!

A Child's Birthday Card!

Here we have a bright birthday card! I love to do birthday cards for kids because they can be so bright and cheery. I have found that I tend to grab my more muted colors unless, I am doing a kid card!

I am spending the day relaxing today as I had a very busy Friday and Saturday...hopefully, you get a chance to relax too!

Excellent Use of the 5 Petal Punch.

When it first came out I had to have the 5 Petal Punch from SU! Actually what do they come out with that I don't need? Well, I found that it just sat on my punch rack and didn't get used that often.

As I was looking at blogs one day, I found a technique on Dannie Graves website that had a beautiful use for the punch. She also shows exactly how to make this 3-D flower on her site. You can click on the link at the left to see her site.

My card is not nearly as beautiful as hers is, but for the first attempt, I didn't think that it turned out too badly. The middle row of petals should have been distressed just a little more! But, alas, there you have it!

Good luck staying warm today!

A Little Voila!

Here is a card that is made with the Voila stamp set. I just traded for it. It will probably be retired in December. That is just how my luck goes. Wait and wait to get something and then retire it! It is a very versatile set. If I can get my hands on the accessory set that goes along with it, I could make cards for any occassion!

For this card I used some retired DSP and my water color crayons to add a little color!

Have a good one!

A Christmas Ornament That Will Make Everyone Smile.

Here is a Christmas Ornament that I have recently made. A good friend (you can check her blog out Krafty Kerilou...by clicking on the link to the left) sent me a link:

http://phototips.alexismiller.com/2008/10/photo-gifts-part-four.html I thought that these were extremely cute, easy to make and would make excellent Christmas gifts. So, I just happened to be going to AC Moore that day, with a 40% off coupon. I purchased the tins and came home to see what I could do. And, there you have it! I really have to get going to make many more of these!

Have a great day!

The Last Workshop Card For This Month.

Well, considering that my monthly workshop is this Friday I had to get the third card prepared. This is what we are going to do. Many of my ladies love the blue/brown combination. So, this should fit the bill. And, this card will also get their hands on the Big Shot!

I was actually able to get upstairs and work in the stamping room! Which around here and with my schedule is no small feat! So, be prepared for some fun posting over the next couple of days!!

Thanks for checking in!

A Blast from the Past.

About a year ago, a good friend was due with her first little baby boy. I had seen a frame similar to this one on SCS. So, I got my stamps and paper and got to work. It was fun to keep adding elements until I thought that it was "finished."

Today, I have to get some new stamping done, so that I can show you some current work. It has been a crazy weekend, and I haven't gotten to the stamping room lately! But, today will be a different story!!

A Basic Card.

...Basic Gray that is! We made this card a while back at a workshop. It is fun to come up with a quick and easily reproducible card! Here, I used Basic Gray ink, riboon, paper and DSP.

Have a great Sunday!

Back to a Christmas idea.

I made this card with some SU! DSP and the Top Note Die! Have I said that I love that die? It does so much for the cards! I was relieved to get mine after a lengthy backorder. I hope that SU! has that all under control now!

Enjoy your day!

An idea from SCS...and a great one at that!

Good morning! Here is an idea that I recently found on SCS. I have loved this set since it was introduced, and this made me love it even more. I knew that it was a good card when I gave a similar one to my Brother in Law for his birthday, and even he loved it!

If anyone is ever experiencing "stampers block" SCS is the place to be! I am always amazed at the ideas and creativity that appears over there! There is a link over on my sidebar for those of you who haven't been to SCS. But, be prepared to be extremely inspired when you click on the link!

Have a great day!

Continuing with the Fall theme.

Here is a quick page that I recently completed a scrapbooking get together. Fall is beautiful, ecspecially in Central New York. Every year, the boys look forward to raking and playing in the leaves! I hope that they never grow out of it!!

You will notice that I have used the Big Shot to cut some leaves for the layout. This machine is really growing on me and I am sure that you will be seeing more of it soon!

Enjoy!

Season of Friendship!

Isn't every season a "Season of Friendship?" Here is a frame that I made up with this new set! I love the simplicity of it. The fall colors are so easy to incorporate! And, I need to hold onto Fall as long as I can, because I know exactly what follows closely behind it!

Happy Stamping!
