How to make a Christmas Ornament...

First, gather your supplies...rubbing alcohol, a clear glass bulb, dazzling diamonds glitter, powder pal, re-inker (here I used Baja Breeze) and ribbon to decorate. You may also choose to use latex gloves to keep the ink off of your fingers.

Step 1: Add about 2 teaspoons of alcohol to your bulb. Cover the hole with your thumb and swirl the bulb around. It is difficult to know when you have covered the entire inside of the bulb, so the more swirling, the better.

Step 2: Add about 15 drops of re-inker to the bulb. Again, swirl until the entire bulb is stained with the ink.

The bulb will be lightly tinted with the chosen color of re-inker. At this point, you need to drain the ink out of the bulb. You can do this into a small container (such a film canister, if you can find one). Or, you can just do it onto a paper towel. If you save the ink/alcohol mixture you can use it for another ornament.

Let the ornament drain for about 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes, I gently blow into the ornament to dry it just a little more. This also help to eliminate streaks of ink in the ornament. If your ornament has streaks it needs to drain some more. The streaks will cause the glitter to clump and creates an unattractive design.

Then using the powder pal, I add about 2 teaspoons of dazzling diamonds glitter. Again, cover the hole with your finger and swirl the glitter around. The glitter will adhere to the sides of the bulb. You may need to add a little more glitter to get an even coat. Tap out the extra glitter onto the powder pal. This glitter can be used for another bulb or you can use tinted dazzling diamonds on your next project!

Now, you have a beautiful, dazzling bulb that is ready to be embellished! Simply put the top back into the bulb and decorate.

Wa-La! A beautiful ornament ready for the tree or gift giving! Good luck making your ornaments and don't forget to let me know how they turn out!!!

Have a great day!
