And, Another Layout!

I am on some kind of a roll! I guess that I can really make things happen when I put my mind to it. It I continue to do a page a day, I will be caught up in no time!
This page came together using some of my favorite colors. Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie. Again, the DSP is retired. The foot prints are from "D is For Dog." There is also some magic mesh on their too. I always loved this stuff for adding some quick and easy texture. The letters are from the Rough Edges Alphabet (I believe). And, the "&" sign is from some random chipboard that I had laying around here.
I really enjoy clean and simple. And, this sure fits the bill!
Thanks for stopping in!

Whipping Up A Scrapbook Page.

This picture is of the boys and I from Easter. I knew exactly what paper I wanted to use for this layout. Unfortunately, the DSP and brown felt ribbon are both retired from SU! But, none the less it is my favorite (ever) DSP from SU! And, luckily I had some laying around!

I used my Big Shot and the Floral Fusion Sizzlit to make the flower layers and I adhered them with a Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad. The chipboard letters were colored with SU! Craft Ink. I still can't believe that they are doing away with this!

I had the pictures printed at www.scrapbookpictures.com. They did a fabulous job and I received the super quickly! They have all sorts of enhancements that you can use to fix up your pictures.
This was one of those projects that just fell together for me! I wonder why it can't happen with every project that I envision. But, anyone who does a lot of scrapbooking knows you have to be in the right mood. And, apparently I was!
Have a lovely day!

The Poor Birds!

Yesterday, we experienced some snow! I certainly know that it could have been worse. And, it was not too far from here!

I took a couple of pictures of the poor birds in the window box feeder sifting through the snow to find some sunflower seeds. They were pretty persistent as I am sure it was a matter of survival for them!
Luckily, today the snow is gone. I have even seen a couple of peeks of sunshine. Personally, I am living for Saturday when they are calling for 77 and sunny!!! Oh, the weather in CNY!

Another Try With Flowers Awash.

The colors for this card are Whisper White, Not Quite Navy and More Mustard. For the flower image I used my Water Color Crayons. First, I spritzed the stamp with water. Then I colored the stamp and spritzed it again with water. After it was on the cardstock, I used my blender pens to push the colors around a little more.
I am really enjoying the Heard From The Heart stampset. There is something about the script combined with the print that just does it for me!
Anyway, have a good day. The snow has ended for now!

More Flowers Awash

I am still trying to work with this set to make something that I "really" like. I like the samples that I see, but when I try the two step stamping I am not happy with my results. So, I end up coloring it in or adding dazzling diamonds or in this case Crystal Effects and Microbeads to cover the imperfections.

The effect here isn't terrible, but I think I used just a touch too much of the Crystal Effects. I will continue to practice and see what I come up with. The colors that I used here are Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Elegant Eggplant.
It is currently snowing here in Central New York! I was hoping to mow the yard tonight, but that isn't looking good!

SUDEMOOONLY Swap.

This months card theme was flowers. So, I thought that I would use my brand new Flowers Awash set. This set is on preview this month and will be available in the new catalog in July. I thought it would be the perfect set to play with for this swap.

I sat down, picked out my colors and created a card. They were all ready to be mailed. And, I got a reminder e-mail about the swap which stated that items we used had to be current in May. Well, this card wouldn't work any more.

I used my water color crayons and markers to color the flowers. I used the two way glue pen and dazzling diamonds on the large flower. The scallop circle is from the Big Shot. And, the WW and Pixie Pink circles were made with my circle scissors plus.
I ended up making a new card using other colors and another stamp set and it is AWESOME, if I do say so myself. I can't show that one to you until the ladies receive their cards, but you will love it when you see it!
We are having our second rainy day in a row! But, April showers bring May flowers, so I will enjoy the rain!

My First MDS Project.

Last week, I received my MDS. It took me a while to convince myself that I should give it a try. So, I ordered it and it arrived.
I was going to be making a page for my in laws to hang on their refrigerator. My printer can print a page up to 8 and 1/2 by 11. So, that is the size page that I did on MDS. It takes a little getting used to, but it worked out. I added some ribbon, brads and knots. The background is distressed and the photos are matted in red.
After I printed it, I mounted it on Basic Black cardstock. Then used a 12 by 12 of Real Red. I used my Extreme Elements set to add some color to the edges and then mounted the pages together with black brads.
I think that MDS has a lot of potential. I can see how easy it would be to catch up on scrapbooking by doing it digitally. I will continue to play with MDS. But, I don't see me giving up my scrapbooking hobby the old fashioned way!
Have a great day!

Farm Life Birthday.

This is the card that I made for my fathers birthday. I had an idea in mind, but it didn't turn out exactly like I had planned. Isn't that usually the case?
The DSP is from a 6 by 6 paperstack. I used Not Quite Navy, Whisper White and So Saffron cardstock.

I used my markers and watercolor pencils to color it in. Maybe, I should have stuck with the water color crayons. Anyway, it is what it is!

An Old SUDEMOONLY Swap.

Several months ago, our swap with SUDEMOONY was to use the Big Shot. Well, I had made this card and sent it. I knew that I had taken a picture of it, but seemed to have lost it. Well, this morning as I had lost a picture that I knew that I took yesterday I found them both! They were taken with my camera without my card in it, so they were on the hard disk of my camera. So, here is my card better late than never.

I used the In colors and the Big Shot. The Many Thanks embosslit and the Elegant Boquet Embossing Folder. I sponged the flowers with Rich Razzleberry and colored in the center of the flower with a marker.

Have a great day!

Flowers Awash.

Yesterday when we got home from vacation, my Flowers Awash set had arrived. Of course, we had a bunch of stuff to do. So, stamping was way down on the list. Well, last night I took about 5 minutes to play so I had a card to show.
I stamped the borders in Basic Black. And used my aqua painters and markers to color in the flower and the stem. The other colors used are Pixie Pink, So Saffron and Old Olive. This set is going to take some work for me. I like a lot of the samples that I have seen, but getting the results is going to take some time.
I hope that you have a great day!

Lovely Lilac Upsy Daisy.

I have loved this Upsy Daisy stamp set since it was introduced. I unfortunately, haven't had it out in a while.
For this card, I stamped the image in Lovely Lilac. Then Iused my Stamp a ma jig to stamp it again in Pale Plum. I used the SAB punch to make the borders. I decided that it looked like a Sympathy card when I got done, so that is way I used for the greeting.
Have a good day!

Ryan needed another card....

...and guess what stamp he wanted me to use? Ryan has a birthday party for a friend on Friday. So, I asked him what kind of card the little boy would like. Of course, he wanted an Extreme Dirt Bike card. So, off I went to work.

I love the Extreme Elements set. Layering them really looks cool! And, it seems the more layers the better. For this card I used Brocade Blue, Really Rust and Sage Shadow. The dirt bike is embossed in black embossing powder. I also tied some string around it for a little extra.

Have a good day!

Welcome Back Wild Wasabi!

One of the colors that will be making a big return in the SU! world is Wild Wasabi. It is one of the retired In-colors that will be made a member of our new color collections! I am very excited about that. I loved the color when it was current. I loved it so much it was one of the only 3 colors of retired In-color product that I never sold or traded! How exciting that I can take it out and use it again.
This card has very little stamping. I embossed the WW cardstock with the Polka Dot Embossing folder. I also used the Big Shot to cut out the little embossed butterflies and attached them with dimensionals. The greeting is stamped with the Vintage Vogue SAB stamp set.
Have a good one!

Full Moon.

Yesterday, I had some time to go up and play in my stamping room. The weather was very cold and damp, so I opted to stay inside. And, I am glad that I did. I made 4 cards and boy I can't wait to show them to you.
This card was inspired by a similar card on the SU! website. Although, I changed it up quite a bit. I liked how the other lady embossed the wolf and trees in black. She had a white moon. I chose to be more dramatic and make it bright yellow. I love the results of this card.
I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I punched out a circle for the moon and with just a touch of adhesive stuck it to the WW cardstock. Then I inked up my brayer with Brilliant Blue and colored the paper. After it was done, I removed the white moon paper and colored it in with my Summer Sun marker.
I used black embossing powder to emboss the wolf and the tree. Then mounted it several times with Basic Black and Brilliant Blue. And, continued the layering with the greeting!
The only thing that I would do different next time would be to make sure the wolves feet are all in the grass, but that is being petty!
Have a great Sunday!

Icecream, Anyone?

This is again the stamp set Sweet Scoops. The colors are Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink and Almost Amethyst. I used my Big Shot, Spritzer Tool and Brads to add a little extra to the card.

The sparkle was created by using the Two Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds. Little by little I am using up the retiring colors. No matter how hard I try, I don't think it will be possible. But, I am going to give it a whirl!

Enjoy your weekend!

Calling All Dog Lovers!

What can I say? This is the perfect dog set for our family. Given that we have a four year old Chocolate Labrador Retriever. This set is one of our favorites! It works and we love it every time. Sorry to all of you who own little lap dogs and this set doesn't work for!

This card was made with more Sweet Pea DSP, Mellow Moss (can you believe that they are retiring this color?), and Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Recently, I have not had time to be up in the stamp room. So each morning I go up and gather my supplies and if all goes well sometime throughout the course of the day I have time to whip it together. So, I have been using my markers to color the stamps. This leads me to think that I don't "need" every ink pad. Markers are cheaper and are very versatile. I am sure that when it comes time to order the new colors, I will bite the bullet and get everything. But, my ink pads have been sitting idle for quite some time!

Enjoy your day!

That's Extreme.

Today's card uses Extreme Elements and Extreme Dirt Bike. I used Close to Cocoa, So Saffron and Brocade Blue ink and cardstock. I stamped the dirt bike in Chocolate Chip, just to make it a little darker.
Have a good day!

Greetings, Earthling!

Here is a set that I don't own. It is called Greetings, Earthling. I received this card in the mail from someone that I sold a set to. It is a cute set, but I am not that into aliens and such. But, I really like what she did with it. I like how she spritzed the top of the card, but not anywhere else.

It is always fun to see what others come up with. Ecspecially, if it is from a set that I don't own.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Nature Silhouettes.

This is another stamp set that I recently acquired via a trade. It is so fun for me to swap sets with other stampers. Very often, I think that I need a set and then end up not using it. Or, on the other hand, I think that I don't need a set and then miss it. So, it seems like the best of both worlds.
For this card, I used my marker to color in the stamps. I used Close to Cocoa and Always Artichoke. It is fairly simple, but looks so nice!
Have a nice day!

Happy Bearthday Rachel!

Today, is Rachel's 8th birthday. So, I used my Build A Bear stamp set to make her a 'bearthday' card! This set is cute, but I don't use it often enough! I used Lovely Lilac and Apricot Appeal. I colored the baloons in with my markers and then added Crystal Effects for dimension. Then, my dear 7 year old who was determined to steal the previously posted dirtbike card ran his hand through the not quite dry Crystal Effects! Love that boy!

Here is what I have.

I have just gone through my 8 and 1/2 by 11 cardstock. This is the pile of retiring colors. Now, I have to add to this the 12 by 12 cardstock, markers, ink pads, buttons, ribbon, brads and eyelets. Wow! I have a lot of retiring products!
For every color, I have at least 1 unopened package of CS. Some colors, I have 2 unopened packages!
Some suggestions for use of these supplies is to make cards to "donate." Someone suggested to use this cardstock for workshops between now and July 1st. I think that I would have to have 100 workshops by then to use this much paper. Maybe, stocking up on all of the colors wasn't such a good idea!
I guess that I had better get busy! It looks like you will be seeing more of these colors being used on my upcoming projects!

A Baby Gift.

One of the families that I babysit for just had their second daughter. So, I had the opportunity to make some "girlie" projects. Actually, that is all that I seem to do. Baby boys are so few and far between around here!

The card uses Sweet Pea DSP and felt. I used the "grass" idea that I saw on one of my SUDEMOONLY swap cards. So cute!

Then, I made them a picture frame using the same theme. I kind of replicated the card and added some Big Shot butterflies. I did her name in chip board that I made white with my Whisper White craft pad. Then tied on a bow. They will be able to add a couple of pictures and they will be all set.
I hope that they enjoy it!
Have a great weekend!

SU!'s Color Renovation!

In case you haven't heard or seen it yet, SU! is in the midst of major change. Some of us are very resistant to change. Others, go with the flow. SU! always finds a way to make things work out.

The above colors are the colors that will be discontinued in July 2010. If any of these colors are colors that you can not live without, I would recommend ordering them ASAP. I would hate to tell you to wait and then have them gone.

Below are the new 4 Color Collections. There are 10 colors in each collection. Some of them are old in-colors others are new colors. I think overall, the colors look great. We may be missing a color or two, but something will work out.

All of this information is new and questions are being answered. Please let me know if you have any questions and we can get it figured out!

Take care!

Extreme Dirtbike!

This is a very quick card that I made yesterday. I have seen so many neat things done with these Extreme individual stamps that I finally bought 3 of them. My 7 year old just loves dirtbikes. He actually asked if he could have this stamp. They have never asked for a stamp before!
I brayered Night of Navy and Green Galore onto glossy cardstock. Then I embossed the dirtbike with black embossing powder. The tag was made with the word window punch, modern label and a tag from the sizzlit lots of tags.
Pretty quick and easy. Not to mention perfect for all of the little men in my life!

Monochrome Pheasant!

For a set that I didn't need Autumn Days is climbing right up there on my list of favorites! It is so easy to create a fun card in minutes! I always enjoyed Noble Deer and did the same kind of thing with it. Now, I am using the pheasant instead of the deer!
This is simply Not Quite Navy ink and cardstock. Masculine and simple!
Have a good week!

Happy Easter!

Good morning! And, Happy Easter! The sun is shining and we are in store for a wonderful day of food and family!
This card was made by Heidi Baks. It was part of the swap from the SU! Regional seminar that was supposed to be held in Syracuse. I never did purchase this bunny, but what cute little cards you can make with him! Maybe, he will be added to my collection someday!
Enjoy your day!

MDS in action!

Sharon McCartney sent this card to me. She used the MDS (My Digital Scrapbooking) to create this background. She used the Sweet Pea Felt and made grass out of cardstock.
I have not yet invested in the MDS. Maybe, I will at some point because I have seen some very neat things created with it. But, first I guess I need a new computer and high speed internet! All in do time!
Have a beautiful sunny day!

An Amazing Card.

As I have already mentioned, the theme for this months SUDEMOONLY swap is "something you have never used." This card was sent to me from Debra Booe. She had amazing results with this card. She used her Top Note, Little Leaves and the Flower Burst dies.
After she cut the flowers she sanded them off to reveal the white. The card is stunning! One more thing to add to my SU! wish list!
Thanks Debra for sharing your amazing talents!
